The TrayNotifier is installed in the system tray, presenting the PRTG icon.
When an alarm condition occurs, the icon becomes a flashing red dot.
Right-clicking the icon, pops up a menu with various actions.
After the first installation the settings window will automatically popup.
On the Network settings page, you can
1. Enter the host name (or ip-address) of your Network Monitor Server.
2. Select the protocol and port number you have set the Network Monitor Server to use
3. Enter the credentials of the PRTG account to be used
The Timers settings page lets you set the refresh time and the latency time (minimum number of seconds a sensor must be down before the error shows up). You can also have a sound played and the alarms window popped up when an alarm condition occurs.
TRAYNOTIFIER
Notifier or NOC ?
Setting the window full screen and adjusting the font size, you can even use the TrayNotifier as a NOC giving your whole department a constant overview of current alarms.
Toaster
New in version 13.3.5 is the option to present new alarms (and warnings) in a "Toaster" form.
This form will popup once for every new alarm or warning.
